History

Co-Founded by Terri Allen, the Harmony Hallers organization at the Harmony Hall Regional Center, Fort Washington, Maryland began in Oct. 2006 under the auspices of the Maryland – National Capitol Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) .

Fort Washington resident, Terri Allen, was invited to design, start and facilitate a new active adults, retired individuals, seniors citizens program from scratch, in the position of Senior Activities Director.

She enthusiastically created the program while adopting inspiration from activities she would do herself when she was retired. Allen desired to offer a full-bodied program, which would incorporate fun, culture, education, outreach, and fellowship through a variety of activities, trips, luncheons, special events, outreach efforts, seminars, and more.  The Harmony Hallers was born!
